Sustainability

Luxaflex® contributes to a sustainable and healthy environment through carefully invented design, responsible choice of product material together with modern and sustainable manufacturing techniques. Our commitment to recycled material and less waste are fundamental in the way of creating sustainable solutions that lasts.

Luxaflex® has environmental focus as a constant element in all product development. We work with multiple certifications, such as Oeko-tex®, Greenguard® and Crade to Cradle.

We have been using recycled aluminum for many years and today our aluminum products consists of up to 98% recycled material. Materials with a favorable environmental profile plays a central role within the company, especially when it comes to innovations. Our latest development is Sea-Tex™, a fabric consisting of 50% recycled plastic waste from the ocean. In addition to recycled materials, we also strive for PVC-free fabrics.

An estimation: For a project of 1.000 Roller Blinds (with an average size of 3,5 m2) a total of 438 kg recycled ocean plastic is reused."

Our latest innovation, Greenscreen® Sea-Tex™, is the world’s first fabric for light control, made of recycled plastic waste from the ocean. The Greenscreen® Sea-Tex™ fabrics consists of 50% recycled plastic waste, collected by the Waterkeeper Alliance, an international organization operating in 37 countries. The local Waterkeeper Alliance departments organize beach cleaning actions and most of the plastic has been collected on the Pacific coast in Central America.

The Greenscreen® Sea-Tex™, used for Roller Blinds, has excellent sun protection properties. Sea-Tex™ is B1 fire retardant, has an openness factor of 2-3% and is available in 5 colors. The collection also include curtains, named Sea, available in 10 beautiful natural colors.

Our products helps control the sustainable energy flow of the sun; preventing unnecessary cooling expenses; allowing solar heat in the winter; and makes full use of the natural daylight, making artificial lightning a secondary choise. All important actions for an energy efficient and sustainable buildning.
